Caroline Tepe, only a freshman at Okawville Jr./Sr. High, was recently recognized as player of the week by SLT Today. This is the first time an Okawville runner has ben recognized with this achievement. She ran in her conference meet on Saturday, October 15, 2022, in Salem, IL. Caroline got first place by a whopping 2 minutes and 13 seconds in the Illinois division race with a final time of 17 minutes and 50.4 seconds. “It was the fastest time of the three divisions of the meet by a margin of 30 seconds,” said the reporter from STL Today. 

Tepe accomplished many things during this race including beating her personal record and the school record she had set earlier this season. Caroline has a bright future as a runner ahead of her, and we are very proud of how far she has come this season! Best of luck to her and her team at Regionals this weekend!
