Track season is now here and March 20th was Okawville High School’s first track meet. This track meet was held at Columbia. The girls finished 2nd/8 and the boys finished 4th/8. The following are the scores of the athletes who placed in the top five of their category: 

High Jump – Joseph in 1st (1.8m) and Landen in 3rd (1.72m)

100m – Nolan in 4th (11.98)

300m Hurdles – Nolan in 3rd (45.43)

1600m – Grant in 2nd (4:52)

3200m – Grant in 1st (10:38)

4x 400m – Hayden, Zander, Landen, and Nolan in 5th (4:04)

4x 800 – Grant, Joseph, Even, and Ryker in 3rd (9:51)

Shot Put – Kristen in 1st (9.4m)

Discus – Kristen in 2nd (26.11m) and Laura in 5th (20.7m)

High Jump – Maci in 2nd (1.32m)

Long Jump – Alivia in 4th (3.57m)

Triple Jump – Lydia in 3rd (8.55m) and Kylie in 4th (8.19m)

100m Hurdles – Alyssa in 1st (18.5) and Maci in 4th (22.0)

200 – Alessandra in 5th (30.81)

300m Hurdles – Lydia in 1st (54.8) and Alyssa in 2nd (56.4)

400m – Lauren in 3rd (1:08.23)

800 – Caroline in 2nd (2:30.27)

1600 – Caroline in 1st (6:04.8)

3200 – Sidney in 2nd (15:42) and Kylie (16:33)

4x 100m – Lydia, Alyssa, Alessandra, and Lauren in 1st (54.6) and Alivia, Laura, Brianna, and Payton in 4th (100.3)

4x 200m – Alessanrda, Alivia, Payton, and Maci in 2nd (2:03.9)

4x 400m – Lauren, Lydia, Alyssa, and Caroline in 1st (4:35.3)

4x 800m – Caroline, Sidney, Kylie, and Hannah in 1st (12:29)

Some students on the track team would recall the meet as “cold and long,” but it was a successful first track meet for Okawville Highschool nonetheless.
