The girls’ golf season has come to an end, they had a fantastic season. They had 9 girls on the team, Taylor Hettenhausen, Kaylyn Cragen, Lillan Helbig, Alexis Jarden, Lillian Cragen, Bella Muniz, Delaney Kuhn, Kaylie Behrman, and Addysen Rennegarbe. They started the season off with a scrabble at Alton. Taylor Hettenhausen and Lilly Cragen played together and shot an 88. Kaylyn Cragen and Lily Helbig played together and shot a 92. Bella Muniz and Kaylie Behrman played together and shot an 81. It was a really good way to kick the season off.
On August 15, 2023, they played Carlyle at the Roland Barkua Memorial Golf Course and lost. Carlyle shot a 175 and Okawville shot a 183. On August 17, 2023, they played in the Nashville Invitational and took 4th as a team. As a team, they shot a 204. On August 18, 2023, they played at The Orchards for the Belleville West invitational and we shot a 427 as a team. Their match against Freeburg got canceled due to the heat. On August 28, they played Carlyle at Roland Barau Memorial Golf Course and lost again. Carlyle shot a 188 and Okawville shot a 203. On August 28, 2023, they played Columbia, Freeburg, and Mater Dei and Okawville was the host. Colubia shot a 185 Freeburg shot a 197 and Mater Dei shot a 173 and Okawville shot a 200. They played at, The Acorns, in Gibult on September 5, 2023. Gibult shot a 221 and Okawville shot a 214. They played at Nashville on September 3 and placed 3rd out of 4 teams. Central got 1st and shot 168, Nashville got 2nd and shot a 177, Okawville got 3rd and shot a 206, and Mater Dei got 4th and shot a 207. Okawville hosted the Okawville Invitational and we had 3 girls place. On September 12, we played New Athens at home and we won. Okawville shot a 173 and New Athens shot a 239. They played at North County Country Club on September 18. Okawville shot a 180, Waterloo shot a 178, and Red Bud shot a 202. On August 21, Okawville had the conference tournament and as a team, they shot a 364. Taylor got 1st, Kaylie got 7th, and Lilly Cragen got 11th. On August 25, they played at White Oak Golf Course. As a team, they shot 190 and beat Marrissa, Steelville, and New Athens. OKawville hosted senior night on August 26 for one senior, Taylor Hettenhausen. They played Centralia and beat them, and as a team, they shot 182. Okawville had regionals at Spencer T. Olin, as a team they shot a 621. Taylor was the only one who advanced out of regionals.
