The Lady Rockets basketball team played their first sectional game for this season on Tuesday, February 20. The sectional was held at Nokomis. Their first game was against Carrollton. The Lady Rockets won 64-46. Madisyn Wienstroer was the lead scorer for Okawville with 24 points, followed by Alayna Kraus with 21 points, Raelyn Obermeier had 8, Adysen Harre and Caroline Tepe each had 4 points, and Kenley Hackstadt contributed 3.
On Thursday, February 22, the Lady Rockets faced Father McGivney for the Sectional Championship at Nokomis. The Lady Rockets defeated Father McGivney 41-29 and brought home the Sectional Championship plaque. The lead scorer for Okawville was Alayna Kraus with 16 points, followed by Raelyn Obermeier with 8, Adysen Harre had 6, Madisyn Wienstroer scored 5, Caroline Tepe finished with 4, and Kenley Hackstadt chipped in 2.
Okawville will host the Super Sectional Championship game at home on Monday, February, 26 against Goreville. Good luck Lady Rockets!
