The high school cross country team truly deserves congratulations for their meet on Tuesday, September 17 at Sparta. Both teams placed, the girls placed first and the boys placed second. On top of the team wins, four of the girls and two of the boys placed in the top ten individually. Out of the girls, Kaylee Wolf placed sixth, Katelyn Gogolek placed fifth, Sidney Charles placed fourth, and Caroline Tepe won the race with a time of 19:22, running her fastest time all season. The two boys who placed were Kaden Buehler in eighth place and Ryker Obermeier scoring second. An astonishing amount of runners made a personal record as well. Ryker Obermeier, Will Tepe, Calvin Maynard, Gabe Charles, Nolan Frantz, Kaden Buehler, and Sidney Charles all ran faster than before. The cross-country team had an outstanding meet on Tuesday.
Being strong physically is needed to be able to run fast, in addition to being strong mentally. “I am motivated by beating my times and by placing good in meets,” says Caroline Tepe. The team is doing just that, and Tuesday’s results prove it.
