The Okawville High School cross-country team is going strong. Their meet on Thursday, September 19, proves it. They ran in the John Campbell Invitational in DuQuoin. The course was challenging, due to the hot and dry conditions, in addition to steep hills. But even with challenges, the Rockets ran fast. The girls’ team won first and the boys’ team placed third.
Furthermore, many runners placed in the top ten. Kaden Buehler placed ninth, Ryker Obermeier placed sixth, Katelyn Gogolek placed eighth, Kaylee Wolf placed seventh, Sidney Charles placed fourth, and Caroline Tepe placed first with a time of 19:56. As well as runners placing, most of the runners are running faster than last year. Keep it up, Rockets!
