On Thursday, October 3rd, the Lady Rocket volleyball team played Red Bud for the annual “Pink Out Game”. This year the Lady Rockets sold Pink Out tickets to benefit Jamie Juenger and Jerry Birchard. After every girl on the team sold tickets, they came out to a total of $3,628, and Jamie and Jerry were gifted $1,814 each. The Volleyball organization wants to give a huge thanks to everyone who bought shirts, and those who bought raffle tickets. The Lady Rockets organization also wants to thank Wennemann’s Meat Company for supplying the meat as a raffle prize. The Lady Rockets want to give another thank you to everyone in the community, we truly have an amazing one.
The night started with the freshman team, and they came out strong. The first set was quick for the Lady Rockets and they took the win 21-16. The second set did not go as they had hoped, and they ended up losing 19-21. They were back and ready to go in the third set, and they took the win 15-10. After that, the JV played. The JV team did not come as ready to go as the freshman team did and they lost the first set 13-25. In the second set, they were more prepared but did not have enough to pull away with the win, and lost 25-27. The Varsity team played after that and they came more than ready to play. The first set was very intense and the Lady Rockets came away with the win 25-21. The second set was a little more competitive than the first set, and unfortunately, the Lady Rockets did not play away to win and lost 22-25. The Lady Rockets and the Red Bud Musketeers were then forced to play a third set. During the third set, the Lady Rockets lost some energy and struggled to stay up, and communicate, and ended up losing 11-25. During the game, Camy Wiedwilt had 23 swinging attempts and 7 kills. Jayice Buss had 21 swinging attempts and 9 kills. Jaycie Buss served 10 times and had 3 aces and 2 errors. Camy Wiedwilt served 18 times, had 1 ace and 2 errors, but scored 11 points. Kenley Hackstadt served 10 times and scored 6 points. The Lady Rockets played at Valmeyer on Monday, October 7th, 2024.
