On Friday, February 28, Educators Rising will be hosting a breakfast sale at the school. A few items that they plan to sell include muffins, cookies, cinnamon rolls, zucchini bread, croissants, biscuits, jellies/jams/marmalades, orange juice, and apple juice. The price of the items hasn’t been officially set yet, but they will range from 50 cents to a couple of dollars. The reason they are doing this sale is because Educators Rising is a new club, so it has very little money as of now. The money will go towards the Educators Rising account to pay for any trips/club activities in the future. Mrs. Furhman, the sponsor of Educators Rising, shared her feelings about the sale by saying, “I think no matter what, the breakfast fundraiser will go positively. First of all, it is awesome that the club members are coming together to run this fundraiser to help support and bring positive attention to Educators Rising. Secondly, I know food can be a very strong motivator for students, so I think this particular fundraiser was a great idea that the members came up with to encourage others in the school and community to help support the club.” She thinks any amount of money raised would be beneficial, but she is hoping to make the club balance go to triple digits. Mrs. Furhman also added, “The OHS Educators Rising club deeply appreciates the continuous support received from the school and community. We are excited to have the opportunity to inform others of this new club and gain even more support; we look forward to coming up with additional ways to help the club succeed in preparing our future educators, so stay tuned!”
