“Ballgame,” yells the umpire as the Lady Rockets end their last regular season softball game. Before the start of the season, the Lady Rockets learned they would be without main pitcher Sydney Tebbe, due to injury. The eighth graders (Raegan Luechtefeld, Elli Kremmer, Gracie Nelson, Alyssa Gavin, and Erin Nilles) took over and lead the team while the sixth and seventh graders came in to aid them. Taylor Hettenhausen and Briley Rhodes handled most of the pitching duties. Rhodes and Jordyn Heckert lead the team in hitting. Eighth grader Elli Kremmer said, “It was very fun to play with the other girls.” The sixth and seventh graders learned valuable lessons to take into next year. The Lady Rockets head into the softball postseason with a record of six wins and ten loses. They will face conference rival Breese in the first round. Good luck Lady Rockets!
