Giving the Gift that Costs Nothing to Give

Student Council hosted a blood drive on Tuesday, September 25th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Luechtefeld Gymnasium. About 35 people donated blood this year. Members of Student Council voluntered their time to work the blood drive during their study hall, P.E. or homeroom. Students gave snacks and drinks to the donors after they gave blood. High school students over the age of 16 were also elgible to donate.

The blood drive teaches many kids and adults to give to those in need. I asked junior Marlee Frederking, “Did you enjoy working the blood drive?” Marlee replied, “Yes! I loved working the blood drive and will continue to do so in the future!” Student Council will sponsor another blood drive in the Spring.
