The Jr. Rockets are done with conference games.  The team went 3-6 in conference. They beat Albers 34 to 19, St. Rose 46 to 32, and Lebanon 32 to 18.  The Jr. Rockets lost to Bartelso 50 to 18, Breese, Carlyle 36 to 29, Germantown 42 to 17, All Saints Academy 44 to 27, and Aviston 57 to 26.  They placed 7th out of 10 teams in the conference. The boys will play against Lebanon on Monday, December 10th, to get into the conference tournament.

Aside from conference games, the Jr. Rockets went 2-3.  The team lost to Woodlawn and beat Trico. In the Okawville Round Robin, they lost to Aviston but then beat Trico.  Then they played Nashville for 3rd place and lost taking home 4th place out of 6 teams.

As the season tends to wind down, Coach Barkau is excited to see what the team has left.  Many of the players are also ready for the conference tourney and more games. I asked 8th grader, Dusty Wilfong, how he is feeling about the rest of the season coming up.  Wilfong replied, “I think we still have some good chances to win some games. I am excited to play in the conference tourney and play basketball.”

The Jr. Rockets look forward to the rest of their season ahead.
