Jr. Rocket Baseball continues season

Bennett Krohne, Staff Writer

The Jr. Rockets have continued their season, and their record is 1-11. The Rockets played the Carlyle Indians on Wednesday, August 28. Okawville had a tough time fielding and lost 12-2. On the weekend of August 30, and 31, the Rockets played in the Centralia tournament. On that Friday, they headed to Centralia and got halfway through the first inning, but the game was called off, due to lightning. On that Saturday, they lost to both Central City and Centralia. The Rockets then had a four-game away stretch, and unfortunately, they lost those four games. They lost to Aviston, Lebanon, Trico, and Nashville, during that period. The Rockets hosted Waltonville on Tuesday, September 10. The Rockets got an early lead and were able to get their first win of the season. The final score for that game was 12-7. Shane Klasing had another outstanding pitching performance. He threw 13 pitches in the first two innings! The Rockets are midway through the season and have six more games until regionals. Regionals will be held on Tuesday, September 24.
