Musicians raise money with a car wash

Thor Gavin, Staff Writer

The Okawville Music Patron’s car wash was last weekend on Saturday hosted by our own Mr. Reed Recker and our band and chorus. They were at  the Okawville fire station from 9:30 to10:30 a.m. The money was raised to help pay for the Chicago trip. The band and chorus worked together on teams to advertise, wash, and dry the cars. There were three posters advertising as the shifts went by. We also had two people with hoses going around helping the different teams. In the beginning, it was pretty slow, but it then sped up as the day went by. At the end, we counted around 40 to 50 cars washed and $1,180 that was raised.
