On Monday, October 7th, the Lady Rocket volleyball team traveled to Valmeyer. Unfortunately, Valmeyer has no freshman team, so the night started with the JV team. On the brighter side, the JV team came ready to play that night. The first set was mostly back and forth, but the Lady Rockets won 25-21. The Lady Rockets used that momentum from the first set to win the second set 25-21. During the JV sets, serves were a big thing. Schae Juenger served 16 times and scored 13 points on serve. Sophia Going served 10 times and scored 7 points off her serves. The Varsity had a slow start to the game that night, they should have been more prepared for the first set and ended up losing 18-25. The Lady Rockets gained a little more energy in the second and pushed themselves enough to win the second set 25-18, meaning they would have to play a third set. The Lady Rockets were ready for the third set and came ready to play. The third set was back and forth the whole time, but the Lady Rockets came out with the win 25-23. During the third set, Camy Wiedwilt served 16 times and scored 11 points off serve. Camy Wiedwilt also had 28 attacks and 13 kills. Brecklyn Rennegarbe had 18 attacks and 6 kills. Overall, it was a good night to be a Lady Rocket. The Lady Rockets play at Chester on Thursday, October 10th for a conference match. Good luck Lady Rockets!
