On September 14, both English 3 classes had Hayle Mickelson, a speaker from ISAC, come in to talk about college tuition and applications. Hayle Mickelson presented a slide show showing and explaining how to apply and benefit from knowing how to register for different applications. ISAC stands for Illinois Student Assistance Commission and is a nonprofit organization that assists and guides students financially when it comes to college. They offer many scholarships and grants. They also help students when dealing with loans taken out to help pay for their college. Their main goal is to raise postsecondary education by 60% by 2025. Both English 3 classes were able to learn what available options they have regarding college.
