The Rockets began the Okawville Invitational by facing the Highland Bulldogs.
The Rockets took the lead to start the game. They scored 11 points and kept Highland to 6 points. By the end of the second quarter, the Rockets had kept their lead, scoring 15 points in the second quarter. The Rockets came out strong in the third quarter, stretching their lead and scoring 13 points. In the final quarter, they pulled away, stretching their lead to 16 points, scoring 14 points while the Bulldogs only scored 4, ending the game with a win of 53-37. The Rockets’ leading scorer of the game was Landen Shubert with 22. Also contributing to the Rockets’ score were Braylen Turner with 12, Ayden Foley with 9, Clay Maynard with 5, Teren Schwankhaus with 3, and Ryker Obermeier with 2.
In the Rockets’ second game of the tournament, they faced off against the Wesclin Warriors. At the start of the game, the Warriors took the lead, outscoring the Rockets 13. However, the Rockets began to close the lead, scoring 15 points in the second quarter, and by halftime were only down by 7. In the third quarter, the Rockets came out strong, scoring 12 points, but Wesclin was able to maintain their lead and stretched the score to 46-33 by the end of the third. In the final quarter, the Rockets pushed hard to get back in the game, having their highest scoring quarter with 17 points. However, the Rockets were not able to come back and were defeated by the Warriors 60-50. The Rockets’ leading scorer of the game was Braylen Turner with 22 points. In the Rockets’ final game of the tournament, they played the Carlyle Indians. In the first quarter, the Indians took the lead, scoring 9, but the Rockets were only down by 2, scoring 7 points in the first quarter. The second quarter was the Rockets’ biggest quarter, scoring 27 points and taking the lead back from Carlyle. The Rockets stayed strong in the third, stretching their lead to 20 and scoring 11 points. In the final quarter of the game, the Rockets scored 17 points while keeping the Indians to only 10. The Rockets secured the victory, defeating the Indians 62-35. The Rockets’ leading scorer of the game was Braylen Turner with 17 points. Also contributing to the score were Landen Shubert with 14, Ryker Oberemeier with 9, Ayden Foley with 6, Gabe Charels with 4, Kaden Buehler with 3, and Zayden Cepeda and Bennett Schuetz each with 2.
