The Girls’ basketball Pack the Place game took place on February 5, against Sparta High School. Mrs. Holm decided to start Pack the Place games for both the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams 14 years ago. She said,” I went to the girls’ game and saw how nobody was supporting them in the O-zone. I wanted to do something to support student attendance. Over the years, the teams have fluctuated in success, but I wanted to do something to get kids out there to support one another.” Each year, the Spanish Club hands out free T-shirts to all members in attendance, which now has up to seventy members. The Spanish Club graciously pays 700-800 dollars a year for t-shirts. The only thing the club asks in return is support for the Okawville Rockets basketball teams.
