On Monday, March 9, the OHS Spanish III and IV classes went on a field trip to watch the Flamenco show in St Louis. Flamenco is a traditional, passionate, expressive Spanish art form originating from Andalusia, combining intricate dance, song, and guitar music. Intense emotional storytelling, rapid footwork, graceful hand movements, and rhythmic hand-clapping characterize it. Flamenco dances are performed around the world, especially in Southern Spain. The Flamenco dancers invited one student from each group to dance with them on stage. The dancers taught them basic moves and answered their questions. Students attended the performance at the Saint Louis University Theatre & Dance. After the show, the classes went to El Indio to eat lunch.
