On March 19, the girls’ volleyball team competed in their regional. They played the Breese Bobcats for their first game. They won in two sets, with the first set 26-24 and the second 25-22. For the championship game, the Rockets played the ASA Saints. They won in two sets, with the first set 25-23 and the second 25-19.
On March 28, the Rockets went to Nashville High School for the state tournament. They played three games. They played Goreville for the first game. They won in two sets, with the first set 25-8 and the second 25-10. For their second game, the Rockets played Woodlawn. They beat them in two sets, with the score of the first game being 25-17 and the second set being 25-16. Now it was time for the championship game. The Rockets played Trico for the championship game. They won in two sets, with the score of the first set being 25-16 and the second set being 25-15.
We are very proud of the Junior High Volleyball team for making history, and we congratulate them on a wonderful season. Some of the team’s best highlights this season were placing first in two tournaments, placing third at the conference tournament, winning regionals, and of course, winning state. Great job, Rockets!
