OGS and OJHS celebrated Red Ribbon Week from October 23-27 with dress-up days and a guest speaker. On Monday, the students dressed up with a theme of boots and bling. We also had a guest speaker, Julie Ruffino, who talked about how drugs have affected her life and how her road to recovery has gone. On Tuesday, we had a red out against drugs with everyone dressed in red. Then, on Wednesday, we had a wacky tacky day where people had the chance to mismatch their clothes. On Thursday, it was team day where students could wear their favorite team jerseys and team up against drugs. Lastly, on Friday, there was a spirit day where students decked out in orange and blue.

Brynn Rhodes, Sports Editor
My name is Brynn Rhodes, and I'm currently an 8th grader at Okawville. I am the Jr High Editor this year and this will be my 2nd year in Launch Pad. In my free time, I like to play softball for the school and basketball on my select team the SI Hawks. I also like to hang out with my friends and family. I chose this organization because I like to write stories. I am a part of FCA, Student Council, and Yearbook Staff.
