On Tuesday, November 25, the Freshman/Sophomore Lady Rockets team started the Father McGivney Tournament against the Mater Dei Lady Knights. In the first half, the Lady Rockets came out strong, leading 20-7. In the third quarter, Okawville came out a little flat, being out-scored 7-4. Again, in the fourth quarter, the Lady Rockets were out-scored 14-7. Although Okawville was out-scored in the second half, the Lady Rockets still came out on top, winning 31-28. The leading scorer was Emma Hokeness with 10 points. Also contributing were Lydia Waltrip with 8 points, Peyton Harris, Elly Hesker, Olivia Bergmann, all scoring 3 points each, and Emme Hasheider and Lily Gass each scoring 2 points.
On Friday, November 28, the Lady Rockets continued their tournament, playing the Breese Central Lady Cougars. Going into the locker room at halftime, the Lady Rockets were down 26-14. Although Okawville was losing, they did not back down. In the third quarter, the Lady Rockets were only outscored by 2. The Lady Rockets fought a hard battle in the fourth, outscoring the Lady Cougars 14-10. Even though Okawville was hot in the fourth, they still came up short, losing 46-36. The highest scorer was Hokeness with 10 points. Also contributing were Harris with 9, Hesker with 8, Hasheider with 5, Waltrip with 3, and Bergmann with 1 point.
On Saturday, November 29, the Lady Rockets were supposed to play the Civic Memorial Lady Eagles for third place in the tournament. Unfortunately, due to the snow and ice, all the games for Saturday were canceled and not rescheduled.
