On Tuesday, November 4, the Varsity Lady Rockets competed in their first round of the sectional finals against the Gibault Lady Hawks at the Raymond-Lincolnwood sectional finals. They had an impressive match against the Lady Hawks. In the first set, Okawville came out hot, winning 25-17 against Gibault. In the second set, Gibault tried to fight back, but Okawville had more power, taking the win over the Lady Hawks 25-19, advancing to the sectionals finals for the first time in school history for a challenging conference match-up against the Carlyle Lady Indians. On Thursday, November 6, Okawville played an incredible match against the Carlyle Lady Indians. In the first set, Okawville came out hot, but in the end fell to the Lady Indians 24-26. The second set fell in Okawville’s favor, taking the win over Carlyle 25-17, sending the match into a third set. The third set was a suspenseful set, with many long rallies and many extra points played. The final score of the third set was 31-29, with Okawville taking the Sectional Championship for the first time in Okawville school history. The Varsity Lady Rockets will compete in the Wayne City Super Sectional against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield on Monday, November 10. Be there to support our Lady Rockets!
